Calhoun Released Booking Photos
Calhoun County’s first-party browser application keeps a MugShot thumbnail on an individual record titled “Released Inmate Details.” The thumbnail links to a larger image. That design makes the released record the strongest local discovery channel because the photo stays tied to the booking episode, release timestamps, agencies, charges, docket, and release fields.
Start through the official Adult Detention Center page, then select Released. That county wrapper establishes the numeric inmate application as an official resource. A current-roster photo alone does not confirm release. Open the released detail and read Release Date, Release Time, How Released, and Release Reason.
Calhoun Mugshot Source Channels
Each photo source answers a narrower question. Keep the county booking image separate from a TDCJ offender image or a news photograph.
| Channel | Has a photo? | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| Calhoun released detail | Yes, on observed records | Search Released mode and open the booking. |
| Sheriff records request | When releasable | Ask for the existing image tied to a Name ID and booking date. |
| TDCJ record | May include a state image | Use TDCJ for a state-prison episode, not a county booking. |
| Sheriff mobile app | None verified | Do not substitute an app from another Calhoun County. |
| News or agency release | Sometimes | Treat the image as an arrest lead, then verify the release. |
| Third-party archive | Sometimes | May be stale or misidentified; return to official records. |
No commercial mugshot publisher or paid removal service is endorsed or linked. A third-party image may be detached from a later dismissal, judgment, expunction, or corrected identity.
Calhoun’s Released-Photo Policy
The county’s actual publication choice is visible in the record design: the image remained on a released-detail page during research. That supports a precise claim that released-booking photos were publicly displayed on August 2, 2026. It does not prove that every image must remain online forever or that every photo request must be granted.
The official released roster leads to individual details. A redacted capture shows the released-detail layout without republishing an identified person’s data.

The screenshot connects the booking image to the released record, while the text fields, not the photograph, confirm when and how county custody ended.
Request Calhoun Booking Photos
If the online detail is gone, direct the request to the office that kept the booking. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian path for an Adult Detention Center episode. A focused request reduces ambiguity and cost.
- Collect the full name, approximate booking date, and a Name ID, booking number, or docket number if known.
- Ask the Adult Detention Center at 361-553-4475 where written Public Information Act requests are accepted.
- Request the existing booking photograph for that defined booking, plus the release sheet if release confirmation is also needed.
- Ask for an electronic copy and an itemized estimate before costs above a stated limit.
- If material is withheld, ask the custodian to identify the legal basis through its normal PIA process.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public information, but exceptions and other confidentiality laws may apply. No verified Calhoun fee for this specific image was found. The Sheriff’s general fee schedule is not proof of a booking-photo charge.
Calhoun Photos and Case Outcomes
A booking photo records an arrest and booking. It does not show acquittal, dismissal, conviction, sentence completion, or release into the community. Use the docket number from the jail detail in the Calhoun Tyler court portal. Misdemeanor matters route through County Court at Law or the County Clerk; felony matters route through the District Clerk.
Read the docket, judgment, bond order, dismissal, sentence, revocation, and discharge documents. “To Bond” explains why a jail stay ended but does not resolve the charge. A transfer label means another custodian took over, so the Calhoun mugshot still represents only the county booking.
Expunction Changes Calhoun Access
Texas expunction is organized in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A. An expunction order restricts release, maintenance, dissemination, and use of covered records. An order of nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411, Subchapter E-1, is different, but it can also limit public disclosure. Eligibility depends on the facts and the law for the case.
Calhoun’s District Clerk links expunction material. An old observation, cached image, or third-party copy must not override a valid court order. Missing photos can also result from ordinary data limits, a spelling issue, or a system change, so absence alone should not be assigned a legal meaning.
No Calhoun Sheriff Photo App
No official Calhoun County sheriff mobile inmate-lookup app was verified. The detention page’s Prodigy material concerns inmate communications and visitation, not a search app. Same-name counties in other states can easily produce the wrong sheriff app, wrong roster, and wrong person.
The Calhoun browser application already provides the stronger first-party route. For the newest county photo and release pairing, the Jail Releases: 24 Hours process explains the one-day filter. If the image concerns TDCJ custody, use the state records route and do not label that image a Calhoun jail mugshot.
Check Calhoun Photo Identity
A photograph can help separate two people with similar names, but it should never become the only identity test. Compare the Name ID, age, admit and release dates, arresting agency, confining agency, court type, and docket. Use only what is needed to distinguish the booking. Physical details add little when stable identifiers and the court file already resolve the person.
Keep the source URL and access date with any personal note about the image. A copied or cropped photograph can lose the agency, booking date, and release context that gave it meaning. If the person has several bookings, each image belongs to a separate custody episode. The most recent picture cannot silently stand in for an older arrest.
Port Lavaca, Seadrift, or Point Comfort Police can arrest someone while the Sheriff’s Office confines the person. In that case, the sheriff maintains the jail photograph and release record, while the municipal department maintains its incident material.
TDCJ Photos Are Different Records
A transfer from Calhoun ADC to TDCJ ends county custody but begins state custody. The Calhoun booking photograph remains tied to the county episode. A TDCJ offender image, when available, belongs to the state-prison episode and should be described that way. It is not a replacement for the local mugshot.
TDCJ’s public Inmate Search is limited to people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility. A fully discharged person or someone released to parole may no longer appear in the ordinary results. TDCJ IVSS can cover state custody or parole and mandatory supervision, but it is a status and notification service rather than a permanent certified photo archive. Request historical material from TDCJ when the live search no longer supplies it.
Dates must remain with their source. The Calhoun release date closes the jail booking. A later TDCJ release, parole, mandatory-supervision event, or discharge changes the state episode. Combining the two images or dates can produce a false custody timeline.
News Photos Need Release Proof
An agency press release or reputable local news report may publish an arrest photograph. The story date and caption can help locate the booking or case, but the story itself does not prove that jail custody later ended. Return to Calhoun Released mode and read the release date, time, method, and reason. Then use the court docket for the disposition.
Third-party archives are less reliable. A copy may be stale, attached to the wrong person, stripped of a later correction, or detached from an expunction or nondisclosure order. Treat such a page only as a lead. Do not link commercial mugshot publishers, repeat pay-to-remove marketing, or assume that payment to a vendor changes an official sheriff or court record.
